1 Introduction

These are just some of the classes I've taught recently. There is very little on many subjects that I've not actually taught across the years, so if you don't see something in particular here, please, feel free to let me know, I might already have a class on it.

The categories below are: Foundational Rope, Advanced Beginner Rope, Intermediate Rope, Intermediate Hypnosis, Advanced Rope, Rope and Communications, Rope Suspension, and a grab-bag of other classes. Several of the classes work well together, to make a longer class block or a day-long intensive. While the first five categories are in order, some of the other classes in the other categories are of various levels, and can be taught to various levels.

2 Bio

Lord Percival has been active in the scene, both in private and in public, for more than 40 years. While many of us know him for his mastery of rope, he also has an extensive knowledge of many other areas of play, including but not limited to: take-downs, breath play, caning, whips, electricity, knives, pressure points and mental bondage, aka hypnosis. Education is a particular passion of Percy's. He has been a teacher, lecturer, mentor, and trainer in the scene for over a quarter century. Currently, he is Director of Programming and Education on the Board of NELA (New England Leather Alliance), and has been chair of the Fetish Fair Fleamarket(R).

3 Foundational Rope Classes

These classes offer very basic of rope skills, suitable for someone who has had little to no experience with rope. Not quite survey classes, with the exception of the Rope Tasting, but definitely first year level.

3.1 Rope Tasting

Like a wine tasting, this is a rope tasting. There are many different things that can be considered rope out there. Why did you choose to have what you have in your kit? What else might you wish in your kit? A large variety of ropes, and the reasons they might be chosen are the goals for this class. This will be a tactile class, so it is useful to know if you have any allergies before the class begins.

  • Duration: 30 Minutes to 1 Hour
  • Format: Hands On
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: Any rope you wish to share
  • Clothing: Anything desired with some skin exposed. If there is a specific texture of clothing often worn under rope, please wear that.

3.2 Basic Rope Safety

This is a basic rope safety course. It presumes no previous knowledge of rope, and talks about edge-play, safer choices, possible paths, and approaches to rope. Mostly for those who are curious, but never actually have touched rope before. Anatomy and interactions covered. Note-taking devices recommended. Highly recommended for both sides of the rope-exchange.

  • Duration: 1 Hour to 90 Minutes
  • Format: Lecture
  • Partnered: Not Necessary
  • Bring with: N/A
  • Clothing: N/A

3.3 First Few Knots in your Toolbox

This is a very introductory view into rope intended to be applied to people. We look at what knots you can start with, why those knots are chosen, how to tie them, and how to apply them. If you have been a boy-scout, gone camping, have tied something to the roof of your car, or already enjoy rope bondage, this class might be too basic for you. While you don't need a partner or partners, almost all of these knots can be done on a chair, or in the air, or on yourself, it is sometimes useful to have someone else's eyes to help you learn your way through.

  • Duration: 1 Hour to 90 Minutes
  • Format: Mix of Hands-On and Lecture
  • Partnered: Not Necessary
  • Bring with: Rope at least a meter long, but no longer than 8 meters, at least 4mm in thickness, but no thicker than 10mm.
  • Clothing: N/A

3.4 Basic Configuration

So, you've heard a number of things about this hot stuff called rope bondage (or Shibari, or Kinbaku, or DiD, and so on) or you might have seen someone do something hot with rope in a play space, and thought that was cool, or interesting. Maybe you've tied some knots before, and want to know how to make them all sexy. This is a basic, introductiory class on how to take what you know, and how to safely use it in the bedroom, or play-space, as a beginner. There is a lot of philosophy and an exploration of your own personal "why" to this class, more than a basic rope skills class. You will come out of this with more of an understanding of how to begin exploring with your partner or partners.

  • Duration: 1 Hour to 90 Minutes
  • Format: Mix of Hands-On and Lecture
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

4 Foundational Hypnosis Classes

These are the first year classes, so they presume no particular prior knowledge, or very little prior knowledge or experience in hypnosis, but some prior knowledge of the scene in general.

4.1 Intro to Hypnokink

Most of BDSM play is with the body - your tools are floggers, whips, impact toys, rope, your own body, and so on. Erotic Hypnosis is playing with the mind - your tools are inductions, triggers, and illusions. Learn to enhance top & sub space, play beyond the possible, explore behavior modification and more. We will look at the whole path from negotiations through to aftercare, with all the ethical considerations. We will explore several possible scenarios, come, find out if this is for you. Please bring a totem or small object that has significance to you. All levels of participation welcome.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Hands On (if time allows)
  • Partnered: Preferable
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing that embodies who you are

4.2 Introduction to Induction

The induction is the first step down the path of hypnosis. It is how we set expectations, limits, safety nets, and make sure all that was negotiated for, can be reached. Just as in learning, different styles of inductions work well with different people. Some of the variations include visual, auditory, kinesthetic, relaxing, engaging, confusing, and challenging, and we will look at these, and other possible methods as ways to get to the space.

  • Duration: 30 minutes to 2 hours
  • Format: Lecture, Participation and Hands On, if time allows
  • Partnered: Preferable for the Participation and Hands On sections
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance
  • Clothing: Comfortable

4.3 Your First Few Scripts

Ever wonder how those erotic hypnotists seem to know exactly what to say, and when to say it, how they have such a smooth delivery? Well one of the ways to be able to achieve such ease is through pre-written and pre-practiced scripts. This workshop is to help the beginning hypnotist develop their patter, and write the words that will be the building blocks of their craft.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Participation, workshop style
  • Partnered: Useful, but not necessary
  • Bring with: Notebook/paper and various writing implements
  • Clothing: Comfortable

4.4 Building Your Patter

Using scripts is an excellent beginning, but, dealing with all sorts of branches to the possibilities, with feedback from your erotic hypnotic partner, can have you writing a variation on a choose-your-own-adventure novel. Yet, having a solid idea of the general shape and direction of a session is also a good thing. Building patter, the skeleton of the session, the repeated phrases, the keywords, the important messages that is desired to be shared and communicated is an important tool to have in your toolbox. We will explore ways to build your patter, and to practice it, so it becomes a smooth part of your experience.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and participation, workshop style
  • Partnered: Useful, but not necessary
  • Bring with: Notebook/paper and various writing implements
  • Clothing: Comfortable

4.5 Triggers, not Trigger Warning

Sometimes it is useful to set pre-negotiated things up inside an erotic hypnotic session for use outside of, or to begin the next session. The tool to achieve this is often called a trigger. Come and learn about the hows, whys, and appropriate times to use triggers, and some ways of building and constraining them. Combining this with the concepts of fractionation can go a long way toward some wonderful and delightful results.

  • Duration: 30 to 90 minutes
  • Format: Lecture and Particiaption, workshop style
  • Partnered: Useful but not necessary
  • Bring with: Notebook/paper and various writing implements
  • Clothing: Comfortable

4.6 The Art of Fractionation

Fractionation is one of the many methods used to deepen and strengthen trance and trance effects. Closer to fracking then fractions, it can be seen to have both in it's ancestry. This class will help with understanding and crafting this tool in your toolbox. Pre-negotiation is very important when using this particular tool. Remember Spiderman's uncle.

  • Duration: 30 to 90 minutes
  • Format: Lecture, Participation, and Hands On if time permits
  • Partnered: Please, negotiated before coming to class
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance and notebook/paper and various writing implements
  • Clothing: Comfortable

5 Advanced Beginner Rope Classes

These classes are for folks who have had some exposure to rope, on either side of the dynamic, or have tied people before but just didn't really know what they were doing, or for folks who want to build a good toolbox. Advanced first year, or second year classes.

5.1 Basic Rope

Rope is a fun variation to add to your practices, but it can be considered edge-play as well. This hands-on introductory class will give you enough tools to add rope more safely into your sexual and sensual practices. No previous rope experience necessary, just an interest in rope, and a desire to learn. If you don't have a partner or partners to bring to the class, arranging for one (or several) before-hand, or at the beginning of class is usually easy. This is mostly for rope-tops, but there are definitely things in it for the rope-bottoms, as well.

  • Duration: 1 Hour to 90 minutes
  • Format: Mix of Hands-On and Lecture
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

5.2 Single and Double Column Ties

Sometimes the tools in our toolbox are quite simple, and yet have a thousand uses. These basic ties, and their theory, can get you safely through many a rope scene. There are quite experieced riggers out there who do no more than these ties, and variations on them, and are quite happy with the results.

  • Duration: 1 Hour to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

5.3 Body Harnesses for Fun and Pleasure

This basic rope class will explore the whys and wherefores of a few different body-harnesses, their uses, and how to tie them. This hands-on class will help you along the path of rope.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in (or be stopped from moving in)

5.4 Feet and Rope

Feet are marvelous things, and don't always get the attention they deserve. We will be focusing on the occasionally neglected peds, and combining our focus with, of course, rope. It can be sadistic, delightful, tickling, predicament-causing, decorative, or many other things. Please, if you are foot-shy, or foot-phobic, this is probably not the class for you.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Not necessary, but useful
  • Bring with: Rope and feet willing to be in rope. Useful other things: pegs/chopsticks, rubber bands, pebbles, bottle-caps, and other small objects.
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in, and a lack of shoes.

5.5 Fast Rope

Ever hear folks saying "Rope is so hard/takes so long, I'd rather just slap some cuffs on them, and start flogging." Well … rope can be fast, and still establish that dominance that velcro and buckles just don't seem do manage. In this class you will learn ways to put rope on fast, in a controlling manner, and set the tone for the scene to come.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Several lengths of rope, of various diameters, from 4mm to 8mm
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in (or be stopped from moving in)

5.6 Hair Bondage

Hair. Most people have some. Most people object to it being tugged on, or pulled out. Tying to hair can be simple, with excellent results. Here you will learn several different hair-ties, and some applications of them, how to incorporate the ties into your fashion, and how to use the ties effectively.

  • Duration: 30 Minutes to 90 Minutes
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Thin rope, string, or ribbon, and hair long enough to be tied.
  • Clothing: No hair covers. Fetish wear encouraged.

6 Intermediate Rope Classes

These classes have as a prerequisit a level of familiarity with rope. If they are brand-new, this is not the class for them. Solid second year classes, some third year.

6.1 Hojojutsu: Evil, Nasty, Harsh Rope, Modified for the Bedroom

Hojojutsu is the opposite, in many ways, of the nice, happy rope arts that are taught and practiced by many rope artists. There are ways to make Hojo bedroom/play acceptable for those who don't want to potentially damage their partners. Some knowledge of Hojo is useful to have, for this class. This is not a take-down class.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Format: Lecture/Demo/Some Hands-on
  • Partnered: Preferred, pre-negotiated for the Hands-on section
  • Bring with: thin, nasty rope (coconut rope, paracord, 4mm or 3mm hemp)
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in, or dungeon-wear

6.2 Pressure Points and Rope

Pressure points are a lazy-dom's friend! Combining that safely with rope is a set of skills that often differs from most people's standard roping style. This class is in two parts, the first on pressure points, and the second on how to apply it to your rope-work. Having a partner or partners for this class is good, if you aren't bringing in an existing partnership to the class, arranging for one (or several) just before, or during the start of class should not be hard. Please wear clothing that allows comfort and access to the body. Naked is fine, corset, complex boots, etc are less than optimal. Bring a "pokey-thingy" - anything from an evil stick through a chop-stick or hotel pen tends to work. If you have a favorite pokey-toy, please bring it and share with the class!

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope, anything with a small surface area to poke with.
  • Clothing: Comfortable, movable in.

6.3 Sadistic Bondage

This class shares many of the nasty, evil, sadistic things that I've collected over the years that can be done to someone once bound. Many folks on the receiving end of this class get to ride that endorphin rush to great heights. Pre-negotiation is paramount before coming to this class. Warning, this class has been known to get quite noisy, and sometimes somewhat damp.

  • Level: Intermediate
  • Length: 90 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and hands on
  • Partnered: Necessary (with pre-negotiation) for the hands on section
  • Bring with: Rope (at least 180 feet, at 6mm, and at least 2 feet at paracord thickness), chopsticks, pens, forks, rubber bands and other evil things you wish to use.
  • Clothing: Person doing - comfortable to move in; Person receiving - comfortable to be tied and tortured in.

6.4 Rope for Sex

Some folks view rope as a journey, others think of a rope scene as a destination. In this class, rope is simply a means to an end. How to get your rope and your sex all at the same time. We will probably try to define what "rope" and what "sex" is for the purpose of this class, so think on what those concepts mean to you. Both sex and rope are fun, so double your pleasure!

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope, insertables, safer-sex supplies
  • Clothing: Optional, within the rules of the greater circumstance

6.5 Rope and Senses: The Art of the Head

The head is often called our seat of awareness. Four of the five senses are seated on the head and the largest sexual organ we have is just behind that thin wall of bone. Playing with rope on the head can be one of the most sensuous or breath-taking activities you can do. The level of dominance and control a few twists of rope can give you, when dealing with the head is quite impressive. We will be playing with giving good head-rope, and giving harsh head-rope, and other variants, as time allows.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Lecture/Demo/Some Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferred
  • Bring with: rope of various lengths and thicknesses from 4mm through 8mm
  • Clothing: whatever allows access to the whole head.

6.6 Shibari Forms

This is not so much of a general class, but an in-depth exploration of one or several of the Shibari forms. The forms most often taught are the Takate-Kote (1-2 hours) (upper body box tie), Ebi (1-2 hours) (both forward and backward, and variants of the folded cross-legged tie), Hishi and Kikkou Karada (1-2 hours) (woven body harness), Hashira Ushirodaki (2-3 hours) (pole and bamboo bondage), and Tsuri (2-3 hours) (partial suspension). This class is benefited by people being partnered beforehand, and being familiar with the forms, before the in-depth study takes place. Stretching (for both partners) is highly recommended. Information is important to both sides of the rope-exchange, communications skills are very important for this class, so if the rope-bottom has a tendency to loose words in rope, this might not be the best class for them. This also pays attention to the artistic sense, so has been known to be held in combination with those who draw, to improve their skills as well.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 6 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Hemp or Jute rope, in 7 to 8 meter lengths, at least 7 of them
  • Clothing: Loose clothing, Japanese traditional style preferred for the rope flower, movable clothing preferred for the one who ties

6.7 Rope for Control

Dominance, control, mastery, however you express your power exchange, it's what gets you hot. Rope can be used to set that tone, maintain that tone, or enhance that tone of your interactions, sometimes in subtle ways, sometimes in very graphic ways. Come and expand your language of dominance, with rope, or your language of rope, with dominance.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Lecture/Some Hands On
  • Partnered: Please, pre-negotiated
  • Bring with: rope, perhaps a peg or two
  • Clothing: Comfortable or dungeon-wear

6.8 Predictament Bondage

A predictament is often a choice between failure modes. Given that choice, many folks who enjoy receiving predictament play, put off the failure choice as long as they can, hoping that their efforts will please those inflicting said circumstance, and they don't have to fail at all. Rope is excellent for creating or enhancing that interaction. We will (talk about/experiment with) various possibilities, working with the needs and wants of the people in the class.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Format: Lecture and Demo (90 minutes)/Hands On (over 2 hours)
  • Partnered: not necessary (90 minutes)/please (over 2 hours)
  • Bring with: NA / rope and whatever toys or tools you think would add to your particular predictament
  • Clothing: Comfortable or dungeon-wear

6.9 Hot Shit Rope Top Tricks

You've been doing rope for a while now and desire to spice it up with hot shit rope tricks. Come and learn some tricks and tips to make your rope more exciting, both for those in the scene, and for those watching. If you don't have an existing partner or partners, finding one (or several) just before or during the start of class should not be hard.

  • Duration: 1 Hour
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Not Necessary
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: N/A

6.10 Rope and Bamboo

Rope is a marvelous tool to enhance one's pleasure in interpersonal interactions, as those who have been doing rope for a while, well know. Adding bamboo to the combination adds many new dimensions to the possibilities. Be it a short length, like a piece a 10cm by a 6mm, or a long length like a piece 2m by 3cm, or anything in between, we will explore the various possibilities the addition opens up. We will explore how to enhance the ties you know with the bamboo you have.

  • Duration: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Bamboo (whatever lengths you have) or bamboo-like substances
  • Clothing: Comfortable and able to move in

6.11 A variety of classes each on a specific tie

Each tie is constructed the way it is for a reason, or several reasons. This class is an in-depth study of (tie) during this class expect to tie it several times, and really get to know the structure, the reasoning behind the design of the tie, and variations as people's bodies are different, even the same person, from day to day.

  • Duration: Varies, depending on the tie, and the depth of the class
  • Format: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

7 Intermediate Hypnosis Classes

These are all second year classes, they presume that the people interested in them have had some experience both in the scene in general, and already have an interest in having hypnosis as part of their kinky interactions.

7.1 Customizing Your Illusions On The Fly

Interactively customizing the illusions that you spin, the feedback loop and a focus on certain paths makes the illusion all that much more real in the hands of an expert. Learn how to bring depth and breadth to your hypnotic play. If you do not have a partner, you can pair up, during the class, for the hands-on section.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferable, but not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind
  • Clothing: Something not too distracting to yourself

7.2 Clearing the Spider Webs

One of the delights, and possible drawbacks, of enjoying hypnosis as part of your kink, is sometimes there are things left behind. Some of them are gifts, left to be opened at a later time, occasionally they are just unintentional side effects, and sometimes they are things you no longer want to have around. This class looks at how to clear the spider webs that need to go, and still keep the ones you want. While this class does have exercises, that will help to achieve the goal of the class, participation is not required.

  • Duration: 30 minutes to 2 hours
  • Format: Lecture with exercises
  • Partnered: Not Necessary
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance to you
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing that embodies who you are

7.3 Dropping Right In

When most people begin to fold hypnosis into their various kinky activities, the induction is very prominent. It has been found, though, that as hypnosis becomes part of your regular fare, many people who play with it want to get right to the main course without enjoying the appetizers first. In this class we explore ways to minimize or eliminate the overt induction, for those who are already familiar with it. If you do not have a partner, you can pair up, during the class, for the hands-on section.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferable, but not necessary
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance to you
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing that embodies who you are

7.4 Fascinations

In hypnosis, a fascination is an out-of-the-ordinary attraction, or attention to an object or action. One of the tools of hypnosis is known as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) which is described as the dynamics between the mind and our language, and how their interplay affects our behavior. One can use NLP to create and program fascinations into a willing mind. Come and explore how to build and use some simple fascinations in this class.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferable, but not necessary
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing that embodies who you are

7.5 Fascinations in Hypnosis for Every Good Geek

In hypnosis, a fascination is an out-of-the-ordinary attraction, or attention to an object or action. This can be used to focus one down in one's particular area of expertise, sometimes to an obsessive level. One of the tools of hypnosis is known as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) which is described as the dynamics between the mind and our language, and how their interplay affects our behavior. One can use NLP to create and program fascinations into a willing mind. This helps with someone being able to share in a geekdom, that they might otherwise not have been interested in. Come and explore how to build and use some simple fascinations in this class.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferable, but not necessary
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance to you
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing that embodies who you are

7.6 Dehumanizations: Animals, Age-Play, and Objects

In many ways, having someone become less than they are is usually easier than most other illusions or interactions. This class will explore different ways to drop the level of the subject's humanity in as safe a way as we can manage, some of the pitfalls of this path, why so many people enjoy it, and how to get someone back up to themselves successfully. Of the ages we would be looking at, usually is either young enough to not be considered an adult, or old enough to need other adults around to provide care. The range of animals is usually quite limitless, including of course the cryptozoolological catalogues. Some of the objects we might look at include dolls, robots, bimbos, furniture, and puddles.

  • Duration: 1 to 3 hours
  • Format: Lecture and Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferable, but not necessary
  • Bring with: A totem or small object that has significance to you
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing that embodies who you are or what you hope to be.

8 Advanced Rope Classes

These classes are third and fourth year classes. Those coming to them should know their rope, be comfortable with it, have tied for some time, and are looking to expand their repertoire.

8.1 Hojojutsu: Evil, Nasty, Harsh rope, as harsh as it gets (part II the Rope)

Hojojutsu is one of the martial art forms, from which the erotic art of tying has its roots. It is the antithesis to all that is gentle, nice, and sweet about rope. This hands-on class will focus on the application and implication of rope in this style, as a follow-up to the Hojojutsu take-down class. An understanding (and shameless exploitation) of body mechanics is at the root of this class. What is taught here breaks many of the strictures about safe, kind, and comfortable rope, so it is very much edge-play.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 3 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: paired, please
  • Bring with: thin (4mm is good, natural fiber is preferred, but paracord works) rope, several 4 meter or 8 meter pieces
  • Clothing: loose clothing in which you can move, to tie and be tied.

8.2 Rings and Pegs

Rope, on its own is quite enjoyable, but sometimes, you want to do a bit more or have a different aesthetic. Rings and pegs can be nice additions to your floor work, help expand in one of the many directions you can take. This hands-on class will combine rings, pegs, or both into your various designs to modify them on the fly, make them tighter, or just give a different visual feel to your rope. This class is not about the ties themselves, you are expected to know how to tie the basic ties, but about the Jazz of the rope, as you add your rings and pegs. It is good to know your partner, or partners well, before-hand, for some of this can get quite painful.

When I don't have Jack Elfrink's KinkyRopes.com available to me, I get my rings from:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#chain-rings/=dxsxvs

and I prefer 1/4" diameter of the steel, with an outer-diameter of the ring being 2". Carabiners can be used in a pinch. I get my dowels from:

http://www.mcmaster.com/#wood-dowels/=dxt28n

somewhere between 1/4" to 1/2" widths, and cut the length down to 6", giving me 6 or 8 per stick, or go to a garden supply store, and get some of the bamboo tomato stakes, and cut them down to length. Chop sticks, pens, hairsticks, silverware, et al can be used in a pinch.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On, Jazz
  • Partnered: Yes
  • Bring with: Rope, rings, and pegs.
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

8.3 Neck Ropes

Neck rope is often considered a taboo subject. There are more safe ways and less safe ways to approach the combination of that most fragile and damageable single-column tie with rope that will lead to your fun and enjoyment.

(Hands-On) We will be trying out some of the techniques in this class, so, please, be partnered with someone you trust, before the class begins. Please bring some 4mm or so rope. Yes, paracord will work. No, most yarn will not work. You are not required to participate in the Hands-On section of the class, if you just want to take notes during the lecture section.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 3 Hours
  • Interaction: 90 Minute version is demo/lecture only, 3 Hours allows for Hands-On, depending on the class size.
  • Partnered: Only for the Hands-On version.
  • Bring with: Note-taking tools, and, for the Hands-On version 4mm rope.
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing, that does not obscure the neck for Hands-On, otherwise, whatever suits you.

8.4 Jazz

This class is all about feeding your creativity and working those ideas into reality. Jazz is about the moment, the feeling, the flow, the interaction with the others around you. Come, have fun, and perhaps compose something you'll want to play again, later.

  • Length: 30 Minutes to Day Long
  • Interaction: Highly interactive
  • Partnered: Couples, Triples, Quads …
  • Bring with: Lots of Rope, and other toys and tools to spice things up with
  • Clothing: Whatever floats your boat

9 Rope and Communications Classes

Communications is a particular fascination of mine. Rope used for communications and relationship building is a marvelous thing. These classes can be set at pretty much any level, as long as there is some familiarity with rope, and they can be tailored, on the fly, for the level of the folks who show up for the class.

9.1 Rope Dance

This class helps build connection between partners. It is better done with partners that are familiar with one another, but it is also a good way to get to know your partner. The active person can be either side of the power exchange, and, of course, there is no reason why both partners can't take their turn on the active side of the activity. No heavy rope skills necessary for this class, it just begins to build the connection, through the rope, between the people sharing it. Inspired by a piece of Midori's Rope Dojo, and crossing over into kinesthetic erotic hypnosis this sharing is both mind-expanding, and designed to build connections between people about to start playing.

  • Length: 1 Hour to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: paired, please
  • Bring with: Comfortable rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing

9.2 Ritual and Rope

Rituals, Protocols, and habits all have places in our lives. They are used to deepen our experiences, build connection, and increase our awareness and stimulation of our senses. Learning to build on the ritual, protocol, and habitual elements in a mindful manner and exploring their shape in terms of rope, hypnosis, and kink can be a beautiful and powerful addition to your play and possibly your life patterns. Together we explore ways to add new and augment exiting ones in your life and play, to help them to be more meaningful.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 3.5 Hours
  • Interaction: Interactive Lecture, and some hands on
  • Partnered: Not necessary, but preferred, pre-negotiated
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing

9.3 Rope as Connection

Connecting with your partner or partners is sexy! Using rope to do so can be even more so. Connection is one of the basic building blocks of a good relationship. This hands-on class explores several techniques to help build and improve connections between partners using rope, so bringing the person or people you are in a pre-existing partnership with is a good idea, whenever possible.

  • Length: 1 Hour to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On, activities, and Lecture
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable clothing

9.4 Flying on the Floor

If you can't make them fly on the floor, adding suspension might not make them fly in the air. Learn how to help your floor-work become much more than simple prep for a suspension. Some different styles and intents will be focused on to both increase your skill-set and all the partnered people's pleasure in rope. This class is mostly focused on existing partners, not pick-up partners, while the same skills can be used in pick-up play, the skills in reading and negotiations for such to succeed are usually not part of this class1, so please come to class with your partner or partners, and bring things that help you connect, be they candles, tactile things, totems of your relationship, flowers, or what-have you. Please wear clothing that is both comfortable to move in, and nice on your skin. Also please bring something you would want between you and the floor, for your comfort. A blindfold might also be nice, to help with the connection. Depending on the skill of the rope-top, two blindfolds might be a nice touch.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: For existing partners
  • Bring with: Rope, candles (if the site allows), something for between you and the floor, familiar totems to the partners, etc
  • Clothing: Whatever the partners can interact comfortably in.

10 Suspension Classes

Suspension classes are, in my opinion, very much smaller classes so that I can give individual attention to each of the sets of students. Since suspension is both a very individual thing, and everyone's body is different, these classes are for intermediate graduates, so that the class can focus on the actual bodies involved, rather than just theoretical concepts.

10.1 Partial Suspension

This class looks at the possibilities of partial suspension. Oftimes a partial will turn into a full suspension, so we will be tying with that in mind. Partials are often more stressful on the body of the one being bound, so this can also be a form of predictament bondage as well. There is time in this class for both variation, and individual focus.

  • Length: 2 Hours to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Very Hands On
  • Partnered: Pre-negoitiated partners
  • Bring with: at least 5 7mx6mm rope bundles (more if the person being tied is larger), suspension ring
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

10.2 Basic Suspension

This is your introduction to Suspension. We go over safety, the whys and wherefors, and an understanding that suspensions are often unique to the individual being suspended. We will work out and execute a good beginning suspension for each of the folks in the room, and examine why those suspensions were chosen, and how to make them workable. Suspensions can be comfortable, sadistic, or life-changing. Please, have strong floor-rope skills before joining this class.

  • Length: 2 Hours to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Very Hands Onn
  • Partnered: Pre-negotiated partners
  • Bring with: at least 7 7mx6mm rope bundles (more if the person being tied is larger), suspension ring
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

10.3 Suspension Concepts

Suspension isn't just about getting someone safely up and down in the air, but that is an important part of it. This class is designed to bring the concepts of suspension into your rope vocabulary, looking at the basic building blocks, the hows and whys of your choices and an understanding of the mechanics of suspension. We will not be doing suspensions in this class but giving you the groundwork, so to speak, so that when you are ready to bring someone up, you are doing it both from comfortable knowledge and a solid foundation.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Some Hands On
  • Partnered: Preferred but not required
  • Bring with: at least 3 7mx6mm rope bundles (more is perfectly acceptable), suspension ring if possible
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

10.4 Self Suspension: Hanging With Yourself

While it is edge-play to do rope all by yourself, there are a number of times and places that one might want to enjoy a self-suspension, from aerial yoga to meditation, from getting into head space to joining someone you suspended, in the air. This class will teach and then practice some of the fundamentals and variations that can be done to enjoy the pleasure of putting yourself up.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 3 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands On
  • Partnered: not requested
  • Bring with: at least 8 7mx6mm rope bundles (more is perfectly acceptable), suspension ring/carabiners if possible
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in or willing to remove

10.5 Dynamic Changes in Suspension

Suspensions are often looked at like the holy grail of rope. Folks who do suspensions often look at dynamic changes as their holy grail. This hands-on class will look at your suspensions and help you make them more easily modified on the fly, both for the excitement of it, and for the ability to keep someone in the air, longer, with varied intent. You must not only know how to suspend someone, but be comfortable with suspending and experimenting within the partnering you arrive with. Come and explore this variation of suspension.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Very Hands On
  • Partnered: Pre-negotiated partners
  • Bring with: a minimum of half-again your standard suspension kit
  • Clothing: comfortable to move in

10.6 Dynamic Suspensions

This lecture/demo class will take a look at several different ways to tie someone so they might be dynamic in your rope, from spinning, to gymnastics or yoga. We will look at giving them the latitude to move, and change, and how to keep those interactions safe for them. There will be some discussion from the Bottom's perspective, but nowhere near as much as the companion class "Bottoms Up" that Bendyogagirl offers. Please be somewhat familiar with suspensions before attending this class. It helps.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Discussion/Demo
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: N/A
  • Clothing: N/A

10.7 Suspensions with no Hard Points (or How to Hang-It, Personal Style)

Many folks don't have the luxury of having hard-points available to them, under all the circumstances that they would wish it. A number of events are just not put together with the rope-artist in mind. This class explores alternate ways to get similar effects when you have to get quite creative in what you wish to do, with a lack or limited availability of points.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: lots and lots of rope
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

11 Communication Based Classes

These classes focus on how we interact, and relate to each other across what it is that we do. I also teach a bunch of not (directly) scene related communications classes, relationship classes, and the like as well.

11.1 Flirting

Are you baffled by flirting? Don’t know where to start? Flirting, like any skill, can be learned and gets better with practice. This class will discuss the basics of the language of flirting. Even if you feel awkward in social situations, you can learn to be open, inviting and even charming in your interactions, and have fun while you’re at it! Gain confidence in interacting with possible romantic partners and others!

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and demonstrations
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind
  • Clothing: Comfortable to sit in

11.2 Impact Play for Connection

This class is all about how to build better connection and communication by getting physical with your partner or partners in an impactful way. Single tails, canes, floggers, and even just your hands can be your tools to build better relationships through better communications and even, sometimes, a different level of consciousness. Ecstatic and Cathartic play will be explored.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture, discussion, and hands on
  • Partnered: Preferred but not necessary
  • Bring with: Your favorite impact toys of all varieties
  • Clothing: Person doing - can move in; Person receiving can have bare skin exposed

11.3 Scening, Catharsis, and Ecstatic Play

A facilitated discussion of how catharsis can be a powerful way to heal and transform, how it differs from ecstatic play, and other scenes. We will explore definitions of terms, contexts in which they might occur, and discuss contraindications. Cone with an open mind and your stories of how your play has transformed you. If you haven't yet had such an experience, this will be a safe space to ask questions and learn from others. This is a judgment-free zone.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Facilitated discussion
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind and your questions
  • Clothing: Comfortable to sit in

11.4 Wrestling with the Inner Daemon

This class is about coming to terms with the desires to do consensual things to other people that go against the social conventions of the society you move through. The interactive class helps explore what difficulties you and others might encounter both within yourself, and when interacting with the society in a greater sense. This class doesn't have one right, true way, but will help explore a number of paths that might help in the conflict.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and discussion
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind and your questions
  • Clothing: Comfortable to sit in

11.5 Power Exchange Throughout Your Life

Folks who enjoy the M/s and D/s dynamic and other Power Exchange or Authority Exchange dynamics often do so to various levels. Some flip a coin to see who gets to be the one making the decisions for the evening. Others find a deeper, more consistent level of control in one direction or another to be desirable. Weaving the M/s or D/s dynamic as a continuous thread through everything you do is a challenge, and often a somewhat daunting thought. This class explores how to make it a bigger part of your life, how to incorporate pieces, and still keep them meaningful. You don't have to be partnered to wish to have this throughout your life, but it is the more common path.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours.
  • Interaction: Lecture and Discussion
  • Partnered: Not necessary, but helpful and useful.
  • Bring with: Open mind.
  • Clothing: Appropriate clothing for your D/s or M/s expression.

12 Role Play Classes

These classes are about being who you aren't or setting a deliberate scene, that has non-normal, or not-completely doable elements to them. Or just about role-play in the scene.

12.1 Animals, Age-play, and Objects, Oh My

Stepping away from one's adult self into someone or something not responsible, someone or something that looks to others for limits, controls, and responsibilities is very common in our scene world. This class will explore both sides of these ways of relinquishing control, giving over one's adult humanity into an others hands, or accepting such from another. We will explore successful strategies for both sides, negotiation tools, and positive ways to encourage interactions. We will also possibly explore, for those who are interested, what roles might suit, and how to get there.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 90 minutes
  • Interaction: Lecture and discussion, with perhaps some self-exploration
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: A totem or talisman.
  • Clothing: Comfortable to be seated and moving around in.

12.2 Damsel in Distress Roleplay

Role-playing with a Damsel in Distress flavour as a scene (or series of scenes) is quite a bit of fun. Learn about what it is and some new ways to bring some of the Damsel in Distress (regardless of the gender of said Damsel) mindset to your kink-play and your role-play.

  • Level: Beginner to Advanced
  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Discussion (with the slight possibility of Hands-On)
  • Partnered: Unnecessary
  • Bring With: Your Imagination
  • Clothing: Anything you wish, bonus points for being obviously one of the Roles.

12.3 Objectification, Humiliation, and Degradation: One Step Away From Humanity

This class will look at these three powerful tools, and their uses both together and individually, as ways to move away from the humanity of the individual focused upon. We will look at why one might want to move away, where some of the turn-on is (from both sides) and the difference and similarities between these three paths. We will take a brief look at how "The Rules" and "The Game" in general society are a non-consensual use of some of these tools.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 90 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture, discussion and demonstration
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind
  • Clothing: Something comfortable to sit in.

12.4 Superhero Takedowns

Rough body play is the delightful art of using your own, and your partner's body as your primary toy bag for your favorite scene encounter. Superheros are the costumed individuals who have somehow acquired powers beyond the human norm. This class explores the combination of these two ideas, trying to bring a sense of Role Play and practical application to the hot Superhero scene that you've been fantasizing about. Some of these techniques can cause damage, cause permanent damage, cause an origin, or actually kill your partner if mistakes are made, so this is, by definition edge-play. Come and explore where your imagination and some body skills can take us.

  • Level: Intermediate
  • Length: 1 to 2 hours
  • Interaction: Highly interactive
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: A creative mind, and a willingness to learn
  • Clothing: Loose clothing easy to move in, or your costume, to protect your secret identity

12.5 Unconventional Edges

Do you masturbate to movies like Hostel or Saw? Do you mine the Amnesty International Atrocities letter for things that turn you on? Do you worry that you are alone in this? Many folks find those dark and twisted corners of humanity's psyche to be exciting, possibly because they are so dark or forbidden. Things that, were they not consensual, would be quite heinous. From witch trials, to torture, from forced medical procedures, through drowning, many folks have fantasies from the edges. This class will explore ways to more safely role-play within some of those edges of what our culture considers sanity, how to negotiate for such, or even bring it up (although just expressing interest in this class is a good start) and tools to help you succeed.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and discussion
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: Your fertile imagination
  • Clothing: As you wish

12.6 Adding Adult/BDSM/Kink Threads To Your Role-Playing Campaign

Many times a good role-play campaign fades to black, or develops "three stars across the page" syndrome whenever it turns to sex, much less actual kink interactions. This class talks about negotiations, seeds, and how to allow for explorations of such, within the role-play world, without causing your campaign to go completely off the rails. Remember, one character's kink, might be another's history. Those half-elf/half-orcs weren't magically delivered by the stork … or were they? How does a pervy hobbit fancier actually go about fulfilling their desires? Are Vampire/Human sex scenes the equivalent of Human/Sheep sex scenes? Are you allowed to get excited when torturing the necessary information out of the Opposition, or them torturing you for the same? Let's explore these questions and more.

  • Level: Strong Roleplayers (not hack-n-slash)
  • Length: 60 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and Discussion
  • Partnered: Having your gaming group not present is OK
  • Bring with: Your fertile imagination
  • Clothing: As you wish

12.7 Omega 16 (15?) Game run

NOTE: This class takes pre-con prep/sign-up. If your con isn't designed for such, this might not be a good addition. Omega is a fantasy/sci-fi role-playing game, heavy on the role-play set in a cross-universal intersection. Most of the characters are self-based, although with all the activities and possibilities and origins that happen in the game, one does not necessarily stay self-based for long. (If you want an exception to that, talk to the GM before-hand, he is open to really great ideas …) The basic structure is a reform school, with some fascinating classes (and teachers, and fellow students) around to be a backdrop to all the possibilities of interactions. This game, which doesn't have to be BDSM-based, tends to move in that direction, mostly because the structure of the environment, and the fact that, while your brain is not touched, your body (and therefore, of course, your hormones) has been de-aged to 18, and so has everyone else's. Your GM has had some experience in that world, so … the chances are you will not come up with something shocking. Yes, that is a challenge. If you want to take a look at the website for another instance of the run of the game, it is at http://www.omega16.org feel free to log in as "guest" with no password to move around and get familiar with the circumstances before things begin. Bonus points for getting things set up with the GM before-hand, so that at the table, we are more focused on run-time than on prep-time. The intent for this game is to run regularly, but be accommodating to walk-on characters as well.

  • Level: Intermediate Role play gamer or more advanced
  • Length: 4-6 hours
  • Interaction: Table Top
  • Partnered: N/A
  • Bring with: Percentile dice, D20, standard gaming supplies and snacks
  • Prep time: For character creation/integration.

12.8 Arena: (Adult/Kinky) Game run

Arena is a fantasy/sci-fi role-playing game, somewhat light on the role-play, set in a cross-universal intersection. Most of the characters are self-based, with augmentation. (If you want an exception to that, talk to the GM before-hand, he is open to really great ideas …) The basic structure is a combat field in what might be the inside of a space-station, or pan-dimensional universe that operates under different rules of physics as ours does. This is a best-your-opponent style of game, although death happens, it is not necessarily a goal. You (and they) will be back for next round anyway. There is team play/competition. Walk-on characters welcome.

  • Level: Basic Role play gamer and up
  • Length: 2-3 hours
  • Interaction: Table Top
  • Partnered: N/A
  • Bring with: Percentile dice, D20, standard gaming supplies

13 Rough Body Play Classes

Here is a small selection of the Rough Body Play (otherwise known as Thug Play) classes that I teach. Some other ones, not listed, include face slapping, wrestling, take-downs of a non-hojo variety, flogging, impact in rope and other intersting topics. Also some of the rough body play classes also fall into other categories, like Role Play and Communication, so you might want to check there, as well.

13.1 Introduction to Rough Body Play

Rough body play is the delightful art of using your own, and your partner's body as your primary toybag for your favorite scene encounter. This class explores things that can cause damage, permanently damage, or actually kill your partner if mistakes are made, so this is, by definition edge-play. With that in mind, if activities from punching and slapping to kicking and take-downs, from hair-pulling and pinching, to face-slapping and pressure points, and all sorts of other intimate things you can do to (and with) your partner's body, get you all excited, then come to this class, learn the safer ways to try this, and what some of the basic techniques are.

  • Level: Introduction to Intermediate
  • Length: 1 to 4 hours
  • Interaction: Highly interactive
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: A creative mind, and a willingness to learn
  • Clothing: Loose clothing easy to move in

13.2 Caning: From the Sensual to the Sadistic

Canes can bring up all kinds of images, from the harsh and brutal, as is done in Singapore for littering, to the schoolroom punishment, or Mama reaching for that peach switch hanging by the back door. They can come in all shapes and sizes, made of all sorts of materials. We will be looking at a variety of canes and how to use them to the best effect, why it can be used as a focus to bring one's awareness to the present moment, how to use it to induce a trance-like state, and as a means of connection.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture, discussion, and hands on
  • Partnered: Preferred but not necessary
  • Bring with: Your favorite caning
  • Clothing: Person doing - can move in; Person receiving can have bare skin exposed

13.3 Pressure Points

Pressure points are a lazy-dom's friend, allowing the control and pain to be fast-on and fast-off. It allows for the level of pain a good flogging or caning might produce, with much less effort. Pressure points are also very up-close, and intimate, so it adds to the viceral connection between you and your partner. A "pokey-thingy" anything from an evil stick through a chop-stick or hotel pen tends to work. If you have a favorite pokey-toy, please bring it and share with the class!

  • Level: Beginner through Intermediate
  • Length: 30 Minutes to 2 hours
  • Interaction: Highly interactive, Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: Anything with a small surface area to poke with
  • Clothing: Comfortable, easy to move in, and allowes easy access to the body

13.4 Hojojutsu: Evil, Nasty, Harsh rope, as harsh as it gets (part I the Control)

Hojojutsu is one of the martial art forms, from which the erotic art of tying has its roots. It is the antithesis to all that is gentle, nice, and sweet about rope. This hands-on class will focus on how to get your (willing, consentual) partner into a fairly helpless position so you might apply the rope as taught in a different class. This is a take-down class. An understanding (and shameless exploitation) of body mechanics is at the root of this class. What is taught here breaks many of the strictures about safe, kind, and comfortable play, so it is very much edge-play. Depending on time and timing, we might get to the start of the application of rope.

  • Level: Advanced
  • Length: 90 Minutes to 3 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: paired, please
  • Bring with: thin (4mm is good, natural fiber is preferred, but paracord works) rope, several 4 meter or 8 meter pieces
  • Clothing: loose clothing in which you can move, to tie and be tied.

14 Other Classes

This is a small list of some of the other classes I have offered recently that don't fit so nicely into other catgories.

14.1 Basic Energy Play

On the scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is Western Medicine and 10 is Very Woo, this class would rate a 9. Join us as we look at things that have been known to mystics for years, but are just starting to penetrate into the mechanistic view of the world.

  • Level: Advanced Beginner
  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: An open mind, a token that has meaning for you
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

14.2 Energy Play for the Focused Mind

What is energy play, you might ask? It is the interaction with that intangible force, that ether that surrounds us, the kundalini energy that is all around us, every day. On the scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is Western Medicine and 10 is telekinesis, this class would rate a 9. Join us as we look at things that have been known to mystics and authors for years, but are just starting to penetrate into our more mechanistic view of the world.

  • Level: Advanced Beginner
  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: Please
  • Bring with: An open mind, a token that has meaning for you
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in

14.3 Energy Play: When Two or More Discrete Individuals Intermingle As One

Reaching beyond the envelope of your flesh to connect with your partner or partners on many levels. This class will explore foundational practices in cultivating and sharing energy intentionally. As this class is interactive, please come with one or more people to practice with. If you are solo, we will do our best to pair you with someone. Sharing energy with someone you don't know can feel strange; you may just find out why. Please come with an open mind, comfy clothes, and water.

  • Length: 90 Minutes to 2 Hours.
  • Interaction: Hands-On
  • Partnered: For existing partners
  • Bring with: Open mind, water, possibly a snack.
  • Clothing: Whatever the partners can interact comfortably in.

14.4 Beating in Service

Not always does the person doing the beating have to be the dominant in a relationship. Especially in ritual, cathartic or ecstatic circumstances. This class will explore ways to perform or provide this service. It will look at ways to focus it for oneself, another person, one's target of worship, one's sacrifice, or even to the pleasure and hunger of the gathered crowd. We will explore how to set expectations, useful mindsets, and how to push to reach or exceed the desired barriers without pushing or exceeding the abilities, limits, or health of the individuals involved.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 90 Minutes to 4 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture, discussion, and hands on
  • Partnered: Preferable, but not necessary
  • Bring with: Your favorite, or a variety of impact toys
  • Clothing: Comfortable to move in, and expose skin in

14.5 Rituals and Protocols for Power Exchange Dynamics

The rituals we do define our daily interactions with the world. Designing those rituals around intentional D/s interactions is the goal of this class. We communicate our mastery and submission through many things, including the protocols we accept or prescript. Building protocols in a ritualized fashion can be quite powerful.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and discussion
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind and your questions
  • Clothing: Comfortable to sit in

14.6 Scening as a Spiritual Practice

The core of spirituality and the core of scening both involve reaching beyond oneself to that which is outside. The parallels and ways to draw each activity closer to the other will be explored in this class. Percival has had experience with mysticisms and spirituality from many different structured and unstructured paths and will help you craft experiences that suit your particular path.

  • Level: All
  • Length: 60 minutes to 2 Hours
  • Interaction: Lecture and discussion
  • Partnered: Not necessary
  • Bring with: An open mind and your questions
  • Clothing: Comfortable to sit in
